Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this.

We are investigating a mysterious GI Ailment on my 12 month old.

He had an abdominal xray yesterday at 4:40pm. As we were leaving the xray tech said, "I'm going to show the xray to the radiologist right away. Call your doctor tomorrow to make sure they get the results."

Well, I haven't heard anything but I usually am of the mind that if something is found that is serious, they call you right away. I also don't want to pester.

Do you think it was odd that she said this? I know no one can say for sure. Waiting on test results is a pain!

I know most of you ladies are from the UK. From what I've seen on here (and I may be wrong), our healthcare tends to all happen a bit quicker than in the UK but the techs words made me paranoid. I'm sure she didn't mean to! There is a portal where you can check results if nothing is wrong and I'm checking that frequently to see if the results are in.

Guess it depends if it was a stat ordered exam. If so here in the us it's to be read right away. If it was a routine exam it would be read the next day possibly. I wouldn't read to much into what the tech said( I am one ) as there is so much going on in an X-ray that they couldn't really know and diagnose. That's the doctors job. So if they perhaps thought something was terribly wrong they would have refferred to the doctor and possibly kept you there. Next thing. The no news is good news bit. I never trust that they got the results and acknowledged them in a timely fashion. I always call for results or if can be seen on a portal. Never just ignore that you didn't get an answer. So I'd call , but that's just me and I'm inpatient. Lol.
