Good morning!
I would like to share my thoughts and I hope that there will be somebody who might had the same problem and help me!
I did my ultrasound a week ago (25w1d) and I was diagnosed with a circumvallate placenta. I knew nothing about this abnormality of the placenta so the Doctor explained that from now on, we have to consider this as a high risk pregnancy. He explained that the condition of the circumvallate placenta might cause: oligohydramnios, abnormal cardiocography, placental abruption, preterm birth, even miscarriage.
Tomorrow I will be in the hospital to take again the big-ultrasound, in order to check again the placenta, the morphology, the vains (using the colour doppler) etc.
He said that I'll probably take cortisone, to strengthen baby's lugs and prepare it for preterm birth (32-36 weeks).
So, after all these, I'd like to know if anyone else here had a circumvallate placenta, how did you deal with it, if your baby was finally born safe and healthy...
Any advice would be helpful since I feel so sad and worried. I already had a miscarriage at my previous pregnancy (24th week) and I don't see how will I react if something terrible happens again...
Please help!
ps: Please forgive my vocabulary! English is not my mother language, but I do my best to be understood
