"about a week"

had my weekly appointment today, and he checked me (SO PAINFUL!!) and said my cervix still hasn't made any progress.

but when he was checking me, he was in there for quite a while and said i might get some bleeding and such, and he said he is thinking i have about a week or so until baby comes.

could he have stripped my membranes? he told me at my last check (last monday) that he will be stripping my membranes to make LO come faster.

And he noticed that baby has dropped.

Sorry im not sure! I guess if he was in there a while touched your cervix to check it that would have been something of a sweep??

i dunno, cause you're in the USA, but i know in the UK, they really won't touch you (in terms of a sweep/stripping membranes), unless your 40 weeks or more.. as "they don't want to interfere with the natural process".. and bubs isn't suposedly ready before due date..
they do sometimes do it earlier if something's wrong, otherwise, they just let it progress naturally..

im not too sure sorry..because my midwife was saying they can do sweeps at 39 weeks so i think its different everywhere with every midwife etc but hopfully baby will be here by next weekx
