Hi! I am 30 y/o and my hubby and I have been married for six years now...we have one DD (biologically mine, hubby adopted) and have been TTC another more or less since we married. Initially it was a "not trying, but not preventing" thing....but then after a couple of years we decided to be more proactive and I started charting. My hubby is a Marine, so we are separated a lot more often than the average couple. Yet, still after so many years one has to wonder why we haven't had a baby yet. We did have a chemical pregnancy last November, at which time we had gone back to the not trying, not preventing thing. It was after that we realized just how badly we really do want another baby.
Anyway, he is currently deployed, but will be home soon and I am just starting my infertility workups. My doctor wants me to go to the lab on CD3 for bloodwork, but I am unsure what to count as CD1. Today I started an actual menstrual flow, but yesterday and the day before I had minimal brown spotting, BUT my BBT was back to pre-O temps. I have heard that you count the first day as the one with an actual flow and that spotting is considered part of the previous cycle....but since my temps were down I am unsure. I know I should call the docs, but we are stationed overseas and sometimes it's hard to get ahold of anyone for questions such as this. (sorry if any of this was TMI).
Any information anyone could provide would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks so much, and nice to meet everyone! Oh, I should mention, our daughter is almost 10 y/o, so it's been a while!

I am starting all of that too and my NP said to count the first day of any spotting or anything as CD1. Good luck!

Thanks for the info! I did some research on the labs, and they can be drawn on CD2, 3 or 4... So since I usually count CD1 as the first day of an actual flow, I went on what I consider to be CD2 (second day of flow), which would be considered CD4 if I went by the first day of spotting...:) so either way, I am good!
Good luck to you on your journey!
