Hi Ladies,

I'm still mostly BFing my 7 mo and woke up this morning with real hip ache which hasn't faded. My knees are also pretty bad. First I put it down to sleeping on my side all night, but could it be hormonal?

It seems I can't get comfortable in bed either without a pillow between my knees etc., like when I was pregnant.

Anyone else experiencing this?

I don't have specific experience of this although thinking about it I do often feel 'creaky' - I put it down to being sleep deprived for the past year!
I had a look around on internet and it seems to be a common complaint from those still breastfeeding, consensus seems to be that the hormone 'relaxin' which is produced in pregnancy to loosen the ligaments etc for childbirth carries on being produced if you continue to bf, when you start to reduce feedings it should ease off and should stop when baby is fully weaned from bmilk.
maybe have a word with your dr about it if it's making your life difficult.
