Hi ladies,

Just wondering what kinds of activities I can do with my 14 month old? Any and all suggestions welcome?! I feel like now is a good time to start with painting, baking and other things but not sure where to start?

At that age, pretend cooking would probably be much easier than the real thing. Teach your child to pour things, mix, etc. Around that age my daughter loved to make "soup" with pretend food. Or go outside and pour sand into bowls, etc. Teach him to manipulate various kitchen tools.

My daughter didn't start painting until later, but she did draw a little. Large crayons would work if your child has good fine motor skills already. Or you can buy special crayons for little hands (they are much larger, egg shaped).

I think at that age they are mostly interested in exploring things, touching different textures, temperatures, etc. That, and putting things inside of other things.

Hide and seek is also a good game. Too young to hide, but they can do the seeking.

Here are some of my favourite activities aimed at that age: https://pyjamaschool.co.uk/40-favourite-baby-and-toddler-activities/
