Hi there, we've been ttc for a year now and as I'm 40 we're getting referred after DH has tests. I had CD21 tests which came back OK, but that's all I've had so far.

For the last 8 months or so I've had cramps about a week before AF, which I didn't used to get. And I can't help thinking this is connected to our lack of success so far too. Anyway, I am going to start acupunture soon and she thinks it may at least help my cramps and could help my fertility.

Also I think if we have asssited treatments, I've read it can help.

Has anyone tried this, or considered this and what was your experience if so? Thanks, Greta. x

Hi

I have tried acupunture and I will be going back when we start treatment. I would recommend going to one who specialises in fertility. Mine is part of the Zita West group, I think there is a list on her website. I used to go to regulate af and to check for ov. I haven't been for a while as she was confident all was ok with me. If nothing else, it is very relaxing and certainly doesn't hurt.

Good luck
x

Thanks for that. Yes she does specialise in fertility. Good luck with your treatment. x

Hi,

I don't have much experience with acupuncture yet. I have my first appointment on Friday. My Fertility Clinic recommended that I give this a try along with IVF. I will report back on my experience.

Goodluck.

Good luck to you too. I am feeling confident about this and the Agnus Cactus. But who knows? x

Hi, just thought I'd share my experience, I've recently started acupuncture after having irregular periods and starting clomid as I wasn't ovulating. I find it very relaxing and my cycle length has shortened to 28 days which I've never had before. I also went for a scan last week to track my follicle size and they checked my lining as well and it was just right measuring 8, so I definitely put this down to the Acupuncture.
Good Luck!

Thanks for that. I don't really understand how it works... although I'll try and do some more reading on it. x

We've been trying to conceive for 18 months and recently I was diagnosed with high FSH (allow tests 6 months ago were fine) - I'm also 40. I'd read the accupuncture could help in general with fertility but particularly with lowering the FSH. I've now been having
treatment for 6 weeks and it does seem to be regulating things and its definately relaxing. I've been told to continue the accupuncture for 3 months then have my FSH level tested again (at present it is too high for IVF). Good luck.

Hi, I'm currently on clomid and go for my first accupunture today (it had been suggested by other ladies on here that it works well with clomid...so keeping everything crossed!) The way I see it it cannt do any harm and I feel better and more positive when I'm doing something that may help.
I've also started a eating plan 'eat right for your blood type', as it suggests that foods come in 3 catagories-highly beneficial (act as a medicine), neutral (act as food) and avoid (act as a poison)...I've been on it 2wks and it hasn't been that problematic and I don't feel as bloaty or sluggish as I was before.
Hope my waffeling helps. Good luck to you xx
PS Have any of you read 'Inconceivable', very enlightening!

I had acupuncture on 3 occassions but she wanted me to take the chinese herbs as well which I would of not been able to afford aswell. Do you take the chinese herbs aswell?

I pay £35 a session which is expensive, but I think its working so therefore worth it, I have a sessions every week to every week and a half.

Has your acupuncturist tried to encourage taking herbal tablets aswell?

Hi, no I don't take the herbs, and its not been offered to me. If you're going to take the herbs esp with modern day medicine ensure that the practitioner is fully qualified and specialising in this field. Best of luck to you :hugs:

I just had my first appointment last Friday and I was pleased. It was very relaxing. I am hoping it will help regulate me along with the Clomid. I have another appointment on Friday where she'll use some fertility "points" on my stomach. She said it helps stimulate ovulation. I figured it was worth a try.
