Advent Calendar

I'm making Edward an advent calendar (which he can hopefully keep) but I don't want to put chocolates in it as he doesn't have it very often and as much as I know he likes it I don't like the idea of him having it every day leading up to christmas. I need ideas for things to put in it, any suggestions? xx

I am making one too and would love some ideas! Mine is for my cousins, so they are a couple of years older. So far I have pictures, jokes, the odd sweet, and I am a bit stuck.

This is a really nice idea.. Just an idea that might help someone...maybe... My brother I think would enjoy something like Hot Wheels - a different car etc every day...Or a car, then a sweet, then a car etc... I think some mini presents (eg from Hawkins Bazaar in the UK) like party bag gifts and the odd sweety would be nice.

Or bits of a lego figurine, so he or she gets an extra piece every day to build something? Obviously I'm thinking a slightly older child, not sure for a baby...

He's too young for lego or hotwheels unfortunately. I'm thinking I'll make some biscuits and little decorations for the tree for him to attempt to hang on, maybe some little felt finger puppets

We have bought finger puppets from ikea for logans and just a couple of the little organic biscuits one for his birthday and one on xmas eve !
