Hi

I have my first c sec in june 2012 which was fine got an infection but after 3 weeks it cleared up it thought id healed well but my scar never seemed to get thinner or lighter in colour anyway long story short....i have a keloid scar which basically looks red/purple & thick like rope some parts thicker than others and itches and I can never wear nice knickers as irrates.

Anyway im on 2nd pregnancy which will also result in c sec but worried as will have 19 month old aswell so nervous about getting infection and making it worse, i will have help from oh and parents but i am hoping to get doctors to remove scar or improve it when doing 2nd c sec as was told they do, nice surprise.

Has anyone got any tips/advice for preventing keloid scars heard arinca cream good??? and c section knickers you can buy from mothercare? any other knickers which are good after c sec??

thanks any advice on recovery

They do cut away old scar tissue. I just boughr the big granny knickers which come upto my belly button and they are fine. Not attractive at all though x

I had a keloid scar with my first. I had an elective section second time round and the surgeon said he would tidy it all up and cut away the scar. I am now 14 weeks pp and it has healed beautifully! I haven't used any special creams on it. I got some huge knickers off eBay which go up to your belly and don't rub.
I actually healed a lot quicker second time and was feeling normal again after 2 weeks. I still took it easy though and got my hubby to do everything while he was off work for 4 weeks. I also made sure to take pain meds regularly.
Good luck you will be fine :flower:

Another wearer of granny pants here, I bought loads 2 sizes bigger than usual and they are great, so comfortable. I may keep them!

Hi Hun

I had a emcs in 2010 which left me hospitalised for 4 weeks after ds was born due to infections and septicaemia, I ended up with severe scaring hurt to wear trousers and certain knickers...anyway in 2012 I had a elective c section they took away all my old scar tissue and my scar healed so much better and neater second time around, I could wear trousers and a lot of knickers without it being sore or irritate me :)
