Hi,

I should be 7 weeks pregnant today, but started spotting at 5+3 which lasted 9-10 days, never got particularly heavy or painful, no big clots etc, but my symptoms lessened, BBT gradually dropped until it's back below cover line today, and HPTs still positive but gradually getting lighter. I had a scan at EPU at 5+6 which was inconclusive and I'm back for the follow up this week at 7+3, although I'm 99% sure I've miscarried. Just confused as this will be my second loss, the first was slightly earlier and was very definite, I had a sudden BBT drop, then painful cramps followed quickly by very heavy bleeding for several days.
My chart on FF is still on the same cycle, as I've not had any heavy bleeding to record, so it hasn't registered a new cycle, just 10 days of spotting and still pregnant on the same cycle. Just wondering how I'm best to continue charting when I don't have any days of heavy bleeding to class as CD1? And if I should still be expecting heavy bleeding to start at some point or if it sometimes never gets any more than spotting?

I'm so sorry you're going through this. Really it sounds as if it could go either way. My recent loss was a missed m/c. Had I not have had an early scan I would never had known. The baby's heart stopped beating at 6w5d but I didn't actually lose him/her until I would have been 10 weeks. I bled for about 2 1/2 weeks before the real bleeding began. I only had heavy bleeding for about 1-2 days when I passed the sac and still continued to bleed for a while afterwards. I bled a total of 28 days. I had a period exactly 21 days after I stopped bleeding so I would say that you shouldn't start a new chart until after the bleeding completely stops and you're sure you've lost the LO. I will say though that with my son I had spotting on and off for about 2 weeks like you described at about the same point you're at in your pregnancy. I thought I was losing him but the spotting eventually went away and I carried him to 37 weeks. Good luck! I hope it all works out for you.

Thanks for your reply, a lot of people are being very positive about my situation including DH who is convinced everything will be fine at our scan this week, but I really don't think it will. Maybe if it was just the spotting, but with the loss of symptoms, BBT drop, faint HPTs etc I don't see how it can all be going well still with this little one. It was devastating the first time round but quite straightforward in the end as the heavy bleeding meant it was charted on FF just like AF, I ovulated 3 weeks later from the first day of bleeding and conceived my daughter who is two tomorrow.
Now I just have no idea where I am in my cycle, and would like to try again ASAP once the loss is confirmed this week.
