Hi everyone

Well our bundle of joy is due in 11 weeks and have decided i would prefer to FF, but i have no idea about any of the different milks out there.

This is our first baby so its all new to us. My midwife is just pushing BF so i have no real information.

What milk would you best recommend and any other advice really would be a brilliant help.

Thank you

I was told by a few people Aptimil is the "best" of all the formulas though how/why this is the case I don't know! It's just people's opinion I assume, but we've had no problems with it, and Fin loves it! He was on their "hungry baby" for a while but is back on number 1 milk now x

I cant give u much advice about FF as i BF, but its hard that your MW wont offer u any info or support. Women should really be helped no matter how they to choose to feed their child.

I have done alot of reserach on formula and breast feeding and one thing i will recommend is giving ur baby colostrum.....what you produce before ur milk comes in (so is only a few days)

Is full of antibodies and helps protect them when they are at their most vunerable in those first few days.

Also there isnt a huge dif between formulas, u really just have to find which one suits ur baby best so can be a a bit of trial and error xo

All the best with ur labour too x

i use cow and gate. Its made by the same people as aptimal (sp?) but about a pound cheaper per tub, which a pound extra you need while on mat leave. Id advise you to just buy 1tub of whatever milk you use as it may take a few milk changes to get the right one. Good luck with everything x

We used aptimil and had no problems with it, our MW recommended it when I couldn't BF.

dont let your mw or anyone else pressure you into bf its your decision. i ff from birth and alfie has aptamil on the reccomendation of the neonatal unit he was on when born. he gets on really well with it.

good luck
