Advice on how to tell the grandparents

This was our 3rd miscarriage in 2 years of trying to conceive. This is the farthest we've made it out of all of our pregnancies and we decided to tell our parents because everything was looking good. Shortly after we told them I miscarried and I am at a loss at how to tell them. They don't know about our prior miscarriages as they happened so quickly after we found out that we didn't tell them. My mom just called to tell me that my dad is going to quit smoking because he's going to be a pa. I'm heartbroken and don't know how to tell them.
