advice please! bad pains that dont come and go like contractions.

I feel silly asking as this is my second! But I was induced with my first so have no experience of spontaneous labour or any kind of build up.

On fri afternoon my bump went very hard, breathing was not easy due to tightness in my ribs area, I needed to be upright and swaying about slightly to ease the pain at all. This lastest about an hour and then went.

Last night 3 a.m I woke up with very bad pains again. My lower back was aching and my bump again was very tight and the pain was similar to contractions but was NOT coming and going in waves, just a constant pain.

Lying down hurt so much, sitting hurt, and the only thing that eased it slightly was walking round the landing. Eventually I took two paracetomol and found a position lying on my side which didnt hurt, and fell asleep. The pains again lasted about an hour.

Could this be related to labour at all? Like is it a sign its imminent? Im very netvous about it as until next week its just me and my toddler here and family over an hour away, so its worrying me to think I might go into labour middle of the night beforr DH is back!

SOrry I cant be of much help but when I get BH this is what it feels like and I stand up and sway and stretch which feels more comfortable than anything else. You are quite far along though so not sure if could mean different in your situation.

Thanks for replying hun. I had been taking raspberry leaf tablets but stopped as it was making me get bad bh's. I wonder if I have an irritable uterus or something. Wasnt sure if these were bh's coz the pain is so intense and it lasts such a long time. Thanks again xx

Maybe call ur midwife hun she will be able to give u better advise good luck xx

I would call Labor and Delivery if you cannot get a hold of your doctor/mw. Better to be safe than sorry.

i have been getting same and feeling hot im seeing my midwife today so will have a chat with her see what she says. I reckon there bh as there is no real pattern. I had back pain which came in waves of intensity then it would go and my bikini line and lower bump had pain and then goes again, carried on every 8 mins for a hour and nothing for a day and half now.

I havent had any pains today so didnt phone labour ward, but will do if I experience it again. Have told my mum, mil and a neighbour to kind of warn them in case something happens soon before dh is back.

I started getting this today, tight and sore bump and was getting sharp pains alternating across top of bump and under bump that made me stop and catch my breath. No position was comfy until after 3 hours it all just eased off and I managed to lay down on the sofa and enjoy a cup of tea. Even my birthing ball made it worse.

It's my 2nd too and I feel so clueless sometimes you wouldnt believe I've already been through it!

10 days! wow! I cannot wait to get these next 6 weeks over and done with!

I'm getting these right now! Bump is rock hard constantly n the pain is in back n bump. Had to get up as can't sleep - my bh are not usually like this.... Have any of u called midwife?? Xx

I haven't....feel a bit silly seeing as I'm fine now and I'm only 33 weeks. Prob just LO sitting on a nerve or something and will get laughed out of L&D

I'm assuming all you other ladies wh are further on are experiencing early labour tho!

Not sure if I should phone or not, I had no pain last night. If I phoned them i'd want them to tell me if its early labour or not, but theyd prob say it could be but might be something else! Gah, just want my Dh home so I dont need to worry! Thanks x

hey hun

ive been experiencing similar over the last 3 days

i had 2 intense period pains ( enough to make me almost pass out ! ) , then ive had 2 milder cramps/back ache.
Last night i had really weird back ache that made bump ache aswell, then this morning ive woken up with constant cramps low down on bumpy..

Maybe the pains could be the start of something for us? x
