Hi everyone. I’ve not been on here in ages but always found this forum a supportive place while ttc and pregnant so here goes.
Back in 2018 I attempted to have a coil fitted at my GP. They were unable to get it in and said the reason was probably because I have a retroverted uterus (2 kids and this was news to me!). So I scrapped that idea and life carried on. Fast forward to now and I’m running out of contraceptive options so decided to try to coil again. Booked at the sexual health clinic as was told by GP that’s the best place to go, they’re really experience etc. Made them aware about the retroverted uterus and they didn’t seem to think it would be an issue.
Anyway went for my appointment and they just weren’t able to get it in. Three people tried before they gave up. They’ve sent me for a scan as they’ve said they need to identify the cause of the blockage. So now I’m terrified. Whatever this blockage is, I suspect it’s possibly been there since 2018 which if it’s something awful it’s lay there untreated all this time.
I have had two c sections and endometriosis so there is potentially scarring in that area. I did also test HPV positive on my last smear so that’s under review but in itself isn’t cancer, but I know can lead to it which is why it’s under yearly review.
Anyone had experience with blocked cervix? What was it and what was the outcome? My family is complete so while I’d be sad if I was now infertile that isn’t the end of the world. I’m just worried it’s going to be something life threatening or life altering.
