Right so as it stands at the moment I am unemployed, with a 4 year old and 19 weeks pregnant!!

Me and OH currently live apart but would really like to move into a house together before baby's born so....

I need a job, just part time but a job!!

Now do I tell them that I'm pregnant in the application/interview or wait and see if they offer me the job?? Or say nothing until I start??

TBH I can't even see myself getting a job this side of having LO but I can try

xxx

Its a difficult one. By law, employers can't discriminate, but at the same time, if you are showing, they'll always find a way to not give you the job if they are that way inclined.

Have you thought about temping, because at least that way, they'll be able to replace you when you leave to have your baby, plus, you may get a higher rate of pay.

Personally (I work in HR), I wouldn't tell them if you aren't showing, go to the interview and if you are offered the post, then tell them. If they are shirty about it, you probably wouldn't want to work for them anyway, so I'd see it as a blessing.

.

Great idea, I'm temping at the mo but only cuz I was made redundant in nov. There were perm jobs in the co I'm working for now however it has a notorious reputation of expecting a lot of late nights n unpaid overtime so I didn't want to commit myself. It working out great, as I'm only temping I'm not expected to show the same level of committment tho obviously I work hard during normal working hours, jus in case nothing else is available by the time the contract ends, hopefully I'll get a chance of an extension or poss even perm job who knows.

Also, with it being temp, u'll both know where u stand with regards to finish date etc. Only thing is, I don't know what the situation would be in relation to maternity pay etc.
