Advice please, waiting for EPU appointment.

Hi girls,
We found out yesterday i'm about 6wks pregnant. We found out during a routine scan (been TTC but no AF since Jan 09) so it came as a pleasant surprise!
The thing is i've been bleeding on and off for almost a week. Its only once a day, every two days and only ever on the toilet paper but today and on Monday, its been bright red? The nurse doing the scan could see the heartbeat yesterday so is it possible its not connected to the pregnancy? After i saw it today i went right to the docs and they're making an appt for the Early Pregnancy Unit for me but i'm worrying myself sick! I'm not sure if this would be around the time of AF as i've not had one for so long.
Any help or advice would be appreciated, thanks x

Sorry you are going through this uncertain time, but from what you say it does sound vey positive! I have a friend who bled in the early stages of every pregnancy & she has 4 lovely children

Make sure you take it easy lil c, I hope the EPU team can put your mind at rest xxxx

I too am sorry things are so scary for you at the moment, but I just wanted to say that I am going thru a similar thing at the moment. When I went to the epu they did an early scan, then took my bloods on Monday and I went back today for more bloods. I am waiting to here if my levels doubled in the morning.

Point is, in my experience the folk at the EPU do as much as they can to see that baby and you are ok, and will take scans, pee, bloods etc to confirm this.

I dont think my outcome will be good (but I am old, and I have a history, so please dont compare me to your situation), but you should find that the epu is there to reassure you.

I did a hpt today and it's still a dark bfp so I'm hoping everythings ok. EPU appt is tomorrow morning. Had a bit of a bleed again today but it's darker so hoping it's gonna go away soon!

Just wanted to pass on my love to you and your bean, I am 6 weeks tomorro and have been bleeding since the night before last...light..heavier then light again although I have felt no pain.

I have an app. with the EPU tomorro too, to have my blood taken to see if the HCG has doubled so I know how you feel babe xx

How'd you get on at the EPU? I went today and they wouldn't do another scan (despite the fact my doc asked them to). They said it can possibly harm the baby to have too many scans done so early and advised me to call them in 7-10 if i'm still bleeding. i was fine with that but then i went to the loo before i left and was bleeding again so i mentioned it as i was leaving and they called me back to book an emergency scan for tomorrow! The NHS really confuse me!
