You're only one week away from being technically full-term. They'll assess you, assess LO and probably give you two options: you can wait and see what happens, or you can be induced.
If you choose to wait and see, you'll be at a higher risk of infection. It's not as terrifying as it sounds as long as you take measures to protect yourself (for example, if you choose not to be induced, don't have sex until you've given birth).
They're not worrying as much as you because 36 weeks really isn't that early. Remember, a healthy normal pregnancy lasts from 37-42 weeks, so you're only about a week away anyway.
Edit: sorry, should've added - the wait and see thing is to see if you go into labour naturally. When they assess you they'll determine whether you've lost all or only some of your waters. Some ladies lose waters at a slow rate, others gush.
