My cousin who's 9 mnths old is exclusively BF. He was a sicky baby when he was tiny but was not given any medication. Since he was weaned whever he eats yoghurt, fromage frais or cooked cow milk he throws up and sometimes he gets a rash. I know when FF babies r lactose intelorent, they cant take normal formula & have to go on LF formula. But I dont know how it works with BF babies. He's ok with BM since he was weaned at 6 mnths, but he throws up all food with cow milk. My aunt is worried, & I dont know what to tell her. Any advise ladies?

TIA

they have tests foe lactose intolerance. can she go to the dr?

I'd definately take this one to the Dr. If there is an intolerance/allergy, your cousin may need calcium supplements at some point. The Dr should be able to refer onto a specialist who can give a definitive diagnosis. Is there a family history of allergies? Is he gaining weight ok? Hope it all gets sorted out and you are all well xxx

i would advise cutting out the cows milk and going to the doc for a lactose intolerance test

My little guy has a milk protein allergy (we're working on eliminating it from my diet right now to find out for sure). If it's lactose they maybe able to medicate otherwise it's an elimination diet... Don't know how early they can do allergy testing on little guys though. A lot of the time they won't do it before 4 (I think) here in Canada
