I came across this name in a fiction book I'm reading, and was wondering if anyone had ever heard of it, or if it is a made up name? It is a boy's name in the book.

I *think* in the book it is pronounced Air-vin, but not sure. Anyone ever hear of it? Just curious!

a quick Google search would suggest its made up as the only reference is to the character in the book

Mervyn is a similar name that actually does exist
