Hello ladies,

I'm just wondering if anyone can help me with this (and sorry, it could get a bit TMI!)

I bled for 3 days after my failed IVF cycle back in June, not my normal 5, which I put down to the crinone I was using at the time.

On CD19 of the new cycle I had another little bleed, which really confused me. Too early for AF (?) and not as painful as my usual period. Plus it only lasted 3 days, was pretty dark and clumpy and never really became a full flow.

Did anyone else have this? I'm just trying to figure out if that was a new AF or the last of the previous one - so I can decide whether to start the clock on my FET....

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!:hugs:

The month following my failed cycle was very unpredictable - few days very heavy and clumpy then spotting, then nothing then more spotting, although unlike you, i felt AF was there or coming the whole time!

Sorry, thats not really much help to you - perhaps your clinic could advise when to start countdown for FET.

I can't be too much help, as I've just got AF after my failed cycle. However, last year I also had a 19 day anovulatory cycle, I guess you could have just experienced one of these, which would be understanable that your body wasn't ready to play ball just yet.

My AF had gone down from 5 to 3 days over the past year, but my FS said this was nothing to be concerned about.

I'd give the clinic a ring.

My cycles are very predictable, FP of 10-12 days, LP of 15, but one cycle I took soy (natura clomid), I had a mad cycle. AF showed as normal, but my temperature didn't go down. I had all the signs that I was still pumping progesterone (sore boobies, dreadful pms etc...). This lasted almost three weeks, I thought I was going to go mad, until suddenly, my temperature started to go down, and sure enough, AF came 20 days later, lighter than normal, but definitely AF. This was the last time I took soy and since then (January), my cycles have been back to normal. I counted the second AF as the start of the new cycle and indeed, I ovulated normally after that.

Just thinking that maybe it is the after effect of the stim drugs that affect some women more than others?

I think the hormones from IVF seriously mess with our bodies throwing our first "natural" AF out of whack. The AF that ended my IVF was pretty normal. I have always had 28 day cycles, so in our month off, I did the ovulation tests, which never showed a positive. Then, I was two weeks late. I had an appt to go in to the dr, but then it showed up that morning. And then, that AF only lasted 2 days, which is about half as long as it normally lasts. The dr said he didn't know why, but that my body might just be trying to sort itself out.

Good luck!

With my last two failed ICSI's, I stopped Cyclogest progesterone suppositories at 14dpo when my beta was 0. 3 days later, my AF arrived...lasting about 10 days. Painful like crazy, blobs of blood in small chunks and both times, the whole piece of uterus linig dropped out. It was painful emotionally too, to see it.

Thanks so much ladies, I really appreciate you all taking the time to respond.

Sounds like a wacky cycle is pretty common, post-IVF. I'm going to do as you guys have suggested and speak to the clinic about it.

I'm wondering if maybe they can scan me, to see what's going on with my uterine lining. At least then I'll be able to tell whether I'm mid-cycle, or right at the beginning.

Otherwise I guess it's just more of the waiting game, eh?

Lots of luck to you all :flower:

PS - Janice, congratulations on your pregnancy!!!

Gives an ICSI'er like me some hope :)
