AF returning after 18months pp?

About 8 months pp I got the coil, my perieds hadnt returned as we were bf and the doctor said it would probably not return until the coil was returned. That was 10 months ago and the past few days I have had some light bleeding and small clots too (sorry tmi!). Is it possible my period is returning? I thought that since i hadnt had one for so long they would be heavy. I am achy like during AF used to be but for the first day any blood loss was black?

I'm guessing the coil is similar to the IUD? My friends who've had the IUD have said their periods got lighter- but then suddenly worse? I think sometimes our bodies just do crazy stuff- and with the pill, or coil, or IUD- it can cause lighter or heavier flows. Usually lighter over time. But most likely it's just how your body is responding this month-- The blood, being darker, is just old blood. So maybe your body needs to rid it now?

Sorry I've no better insight.
