AF two days late, BFN on test - help?

Hi ladies, hopefully someone can assist with this question. I'm so confused! I went off birth control in March for TTC, and have been extremely regular with my periods my whole life - even after stopping the pill. AF was due on Sunday, and I always start first thing in the morning. No sign of AF, although I have been cramping for several days. I just tested, and it was a BFN. Super disappointing, but I also know that it can take a while for a test to show positive. Does anyone have any input or have had a similar situation happen to them?

Like I said, I've never had a late period, so this is extremely odd. I so hope I'm pregnant, but I would expect a test to show it after a missed period. Help?

Hi Sorry your post got dropped way down due to so much activity on the other threads
Are you temping , using opk and/or charting?
Even with totally reg cycles you won't know for sure you Ov without a temp rise, opk etc.
Also were you on pills or something else recently, and was it a long time?
Sometimes BC with hormones in it ( pills, certain IUDS etc) throw the normal hormone pattern way off, so it takes a while to get back to normal.
Also I know ppl taking BC for many yrs sometimes have probs later.
Otherwise, all you can do is test for now.
Do you know how many days post ov you are? If the egg is fertilized, implant has a range to it, and it's hard to say when exactly enough hcg kicks in, so being pg could def delay your normal start day.

I'm also in the same boat. I'm a week late with bfn tests. Had mega loads of painful cramps yesterday so was expecting AF today but nada! Fed up of waiting on it tbh. I just want to start the next cycle already.

Hi! I have been using home ovulation kits, and had spotting/positive tests mid-cycle like normal. I was taking birth control pills until March, but I've had all normal cycles even after stopping (minus the withdrawal bleed right after stopping the pills). And I've never had a late or missed period, so it's very odd for me to say the least! I'll be waiting a few more days before testing again. At this point, I just want to know one way or another.

Oh wow, a week late! How frustrating. I have been doing some looking around on other threads and I have seen people that don't get positive tests until weeks after the missed AF. But still, super annoying! I'm fed up and only two days late at this point. I just want to know one way or another lol!

No, we decided that we would both get checked out if nothing happened around the 10-11 month mark. We are both in our mid-twenties, and no reason to think that anything is wrong, and I know most doctors say to try for a full year before going in for tests.

Lol that would be cool though! I actually have a little sister who is six years old...so if we get pregnant soon she will have a niece or nephew fairly close to her in age. It would be super fun! We haven't been trying a long time in the grand scheme of things (about five months), but we are both definitely ready for a baby. Hopefully my cycle gets straightened out soon...whether it's AF or pregnancy, I just want to know one way or another.

23 days late here. 7 BFNs and negative blood test at 10 days late. So frustrating. I was really hoping this was the cycle it would happen, but all the BFNs are so disheartening

Are you going to see a doc about inducing one?
I have been on depo a few time with NO periods- one of the reasons I liked it, but always got my cycles back with a month of bc pills to force AF

Thank you JLM, I've been off bc pills since May 2014. I can't get into my doc until September and the walk in physician I saw barely wanted to give me a requisition for a blood test like he thought I was crazy or something. I don't think I want to take pills to induce a period on the 1% chance I might be pregnant and one of those people who don't get a BFP till really late, if ever. I'm not getting my hopes up, but I just don't want to chance it I guess.

Oh absolutely Trust me I had AF lighter than usual last month and a day less and I spent almost 2 weeks changing my chart from Light bleed ( which starts a new cycle) to spotting ( which makes one long cycle) and back again and again...I was just so undecided. Several neg tests in that 2 wks and I felt ok gto move on, but I kept thinking what if...?
Even today it hit me what if...and then I had to kick myself as a reminder I have confirmed O since and have still been bfn without so much as a squinter lol.
TTC drives us all a bit mad, no doubt.

Hi girls, hope it's ok to jump in here!
I'm 13dpo, temp still up and af due tomorrow and still getting very obviously bfn. I'm really frustrated because I had quite good vibes about this cycle, but the negative tests are really demoralising. I wonder how many people get absolutely nothing until af due or later. The internet and ff charts seem to be full of people getting bfp at around 9/10dpo but I'm sure that can't be the norm...?

It's such a crazy thing, this ttc business. I finally have my first appointment with a gynae specialist in 6 hours. I've been looking forward to it all month and I really hope they can start to find out what's going on... I'm also booked in for cd2 bloods on Friday to check my FSH and I hope so much that af still isn't here then so I can ask for a pregnancy test instead!!!
I hope you are all holding out ok. It feels like hell waiting, doesn't it? I just want to know and then get on with things one way or the other!

Hope it wasn't a problem posting... You all went very quiet! AF was due today and no sign yet, temp stayed level... Trying not to get too hopeful, especially as I just got another bfn. Going to invest in a FRER if no sign tomorrow!

Hi Ellie! Welcome! We are all actually way past when AF is due, so can definitely relate to the stress of getting a BFN. For me, AF was due this past Sunday, and still no sign. I've taken three tests and all have been definite negatives. At this point, I'm not sure if I'm just having a weird cycle or if I am actually pregnant and it's just taking longer to show.
