So she is finally here :) went into the hospital for non stress test and apperently my bp shot up. They took tests, wasn't preecl, but close so they suggested delivery. Had my baby girl by c-section on monday. She is gorgeous and healthy. They let me go home today because everyone was feeling great...but now I am concerned. My feet were swallen during pregnancy, and now one of my feet still is..plus I checked my bp on home monitor and it was 158/90 a bit high. They were checking it at the hospital non stop and it was completely normal. I am super concerned now that something may be wrong... did anyone ever had this or should I just stop worrying. The doc told me to go on friday and just check my bp in the office, but he didn't sound concerned.. I am driving myself nuts...

Congrats on your little one!

For your own peace of mind I would go sooner and get checked out. Conditions such as pre eclampsia can develop post partum even as late as 4-6 weeks. This is rare but it never hurts to double check!

Main question why it develops only with my house monitor? :)

Have you had someone else test the monitor at home to see if they get elevated reading? Can you go to a pharmacy or store and use a maching? Did they have you on any medicines at hospital?

I would go in sooner if still high.

I'd pop to your Docs or a pharmacy and get another reading - then call your doc if still high - it's not something you want to leave.

Because worrying about it won't help it go down!! xx

I didn't have high blood pressure during my recent pregnancy, had my son 3 weeks ago and my blood pressure went up at 4 days postpartum. Stayed elevated for about a week and then went back down. My midwife said that sometimes with pregnancy hormones going crazy after having a baby that blood pressure can sometimes go up. In rare circumstances a woman can develop preeclampsia after delivery. My BP went down, but if it didn't my midwife had said that she would want me on BP meds for a couple weeks until it regulated. I didn't need to go that route, but if I were you is have it checked. The BP cuffs at the pharmacy actually aren't that accurate. The manual BP cuffs are the most accurate so going to the doctor to have it checked is better. The digital readings can sometimes read higher. I wouldn't worry too much but get it checked sooner that later

The fact that it's one foot is what would scare me. I would go get checked because if I'm not mistaken that can be a symptom of a blood clot. I know it stinks to get out when you just want to rest, but to be safe I would go.

I'd also get checked regarding the bp. Or at least check it again using a different monitor to see if it varies.

As far as the swelling in your feet, that is very common after a c-section. My feet and legs were seriously like Fred Flintstone tree trunks for at least a week after. Make sure you drink lots of water to flush the excess water out. But it should let up in a week or two.

I would get checked i developed high bp(190/110) 2 weeks after delivery(was fine during pregnancy) Im 5.5 months post-partum and still on bp meds like a pp said it is rare but can happen

went to the doc..apparently the problem was a too small cuff on my home monitor....jeez
