So I'm looking for an OB/GYN. Most places I have called don't schedule the first visit until after 7 weeks (one place told me at 10 weeks) after your LMP. Is this typical?

At what week after your did you have your first dr appt? Did they see you as soon as you called after your HPT?

To be consistent lets us weeks after the last menstrual period?

well, i'm from Scotland. after i found out i was pregnant i went to the Drs not long after... i think i was 4weeks bang on if that.

i got a letter though my door saying my first booking scan was 19th April - this is all i've had.

i don't basically see somone from when i was 4 weeks all the way up to 10+5 weeks

I went to my doctors when I found out, about week 5. She then told me to phone the midwife to arrange my first appointment - thats tomorrow (i'm 8 weeks). I presume she will then give me a date for my scan in a couple of weeks.

I just got my BFP on 3/14 called the dr on Monday, and they typically don't see anyone until between the 8-10 weeks unless you're high risk.

So I'm scheduled to go 4/16 - I'll be approx 9 weeks then! Seems like forever!!

I saw the doc 2 days after me bfp, but now I've got to wait up to 6 weeks to see my midwife.

Im in Spain and they seem to be very quick with everything - saw GP a week after my BFP, then saw the Doctor who (all being well) will deliver baby and had early (internal) scan at 5wks and 1 day. Already booked back in for next scan in 4 weeks time, then another one 3 wks later at 12 wks!

Doctor also said that close to the birth she will see me every day and if she thinks baby is on its way then she will admit me to hospital!

Theres nothing wrong and this is my first, but this is how they do things in Spain and I also have private insurance so dont know if that makes a difference (its not that common in Spain) Spain does have one of the lowest birth rates in Europe so maybe they arent taking any chances!

Hope you have a fantastic 9 months!

My OB/GYN wouldn't see me til week 8 (which my appt was yesterday). another OB/BYN in the same office won't see her patients until week 11 or 12. So that is typical :)

Congrats on your BFP!

Oh wow! So I guess 7 weeks is early.. Darn I should have made the appt.. I will call on Monday..

For the ladies that had to wait a couple of weeks, did the drs do blood tests or anything prior to your first visit to confirm the pregnancy?

I went to my first appointment today at 6 weeks. They gave me a schedule of basically every 4 weeks for an ultrasound/routine checkup. Kind of nice! My next appointment is in 3 weeks (I'll be 9 weeks). After that I will have another at 12 weeks, 16 weeks, 20 weeks, 24, 28, 30, 32, 34, 35, 36, 37, 38, 39, 40.

I'm not high risk or anything, this is the standard for my particular doctor. I live in Atlanta. When I initially called to schedule, they said I had to wait until I was 6 weeks to come in. I guess every doctor is different

They usually want you to wait till after 8 weeks (I think I hear between 10 and 12 weeks) because they can do the dating scan then. They can see how far along you are with U/S. Before that isnt very accurate.
