Agnus Castus/Vitex - brown discharge?

I started taking ac this month as I've been off the pill since January and I've discovered that I ovulate late in my cycle - cd 24-28. So I thought this would help me to ovulate sooner. I take 2 tablets from Holland and Barrett twice a day.

Normally I have a 5 day period followed by half a day/day of light brown discharge. Well, since I started taking ac I've had this type of discharge every day since my af ended.

Is this normal? Why could this be happening? Has anyone else expereinced this?

I can't find any information on the net about this, so I really hope someone here can help!

Sorry Hun, I don't know much about this. I think I was thinking about starting it too but some of the lovely ladies here suggested that I consult a Herbalist before. So maybe you should discuss this with some one qualified if possible.

hi i went on that stuff never again my natropath gave it to me i spent a few months on it and wish i didnt because i feel now that i wasted valuable concieving months.........i went from normal 28-29 day cycles with no issues to mid cycle bleeding, cycles going to 34-35 days and no EWCM...........as soon as i stopped my cycles went back to 28 days no midcycle bleeding etc.................i have since heard more bad things about AG than good!! my opinion if you think that it is responsible stop taking it and see if your cycle normalises

Thanks Nessie. I'm going to take it for the rest of this month and see how it goes. If I have this brown cm for the whole cycle then there's no way I'm staying on it. I normally get lots of ewm but the problem is I ovulate very late cd24-28 so was taking it in the hope of ovulating earlier....so we'll see.

I was using Agnus Castus but the Kira brand which are 1 a day and not as strong as the holland and barret one (i took 2 a day though!) I was taking them because my period was very irregular.

I am now pregnant after only taking them for a short time. Not sure how far as I am seeing my midwife next week and I am really excited.

I never thought that I would get pregnant again with my extremely irregular cycle and I was trying for 5 years!
