Does anyone take Agnus castus ?

does it work and what difference has it made to your cycles and ttc?

After being on depo provera for a year i had my last injection sept 2007 and i didnt get my first af till aug 2009!!!

i got a :bfp: in dec 2009 unfortunatly i mc in jan and since then i am still waiting for af or even better a :bfp:

so i have been reasearching into natural supplements and came across Angus castus and got my thinking how many of you ladies already take it or have and what effects on your cycles it has had. any info or advice would be great... thanks

Hi Shell! I just responded to this in the new charters thread, but I guess I'll redress since others might not find it there.

I started taking vitex at the end of Feb to help regulate my cycles. 2 days later (on cd 74) af arrived. I also tried the parsley pessary and parsley tea too, so those might have had an affect on me as well. Now I'm on cd16 and very close to ovulating (I hope). I have ewcm, hso cervix, and my opks are getting darker. So that's been my experience with it. Oh, I take it 3x a day at 80mg each...which I think might be a low dose compared to some I've read online.

Now I've heard that vitex can mess with cycles that are already "normal" but I don't know what exactly it did to their cycles. So far it has worked well for me. :flower:

Hello, I tried AC in December after 7mths of irregular periods following BC. I took it for 9 weeks (4x400mg tabs a day as recommended on bottle) and although it helped the spotting i usually get, it didn't help me ovulate earlier which is what i'd hoped! I have a short LP which it did increase slightly though!

I say its always worth a go, everyone is different. GL

Hi! :hi:

I just started back up on Vitex. I took it last year after I had a 58 day cycle. It brought my period on almost immediately after starting it, just like how Amber said. After that I started ovulating, though "late" in a cycle (like CD 19 or 20?) with lots and lots and lots of ewcm. Brought my periods down to about 32-34 days cycles. (much better than 60!)

I've started taking it again because I've stopped taking Soy. I'm on CD 14 and I think I have or am about to ovulate, lots of ewcm, my temp has started to rise, though I've still been getting negative OPK. I'm using different OPK than the last time though, might not be as sensitive.

Also, I take 800mg every day, two 400mg pills. I'm pretty sure this is the dose I was on when I took it the last time as well. One in the morning one at night.

Good luck, if you have normal cycles don't use it, but if they are long and irregular I really do believe it helps.

Hi huni i took agnus for a few months last year. I had never had a 28 day cycle in my life but i did the first month of taking this which i thought was brilliant. Im not sure if i was ovulating every month though.
I was taking 20mg which is a very low dose. Got it from boots but it was expensive. The health shop sell them cheaper.

Id give them a go its worth a try. It herbal so it cant really harm you.

xx

I take Femaprin which is another form of Vitex.... it has vitex in it along with B6.. my cycles are irregular as well..usually 40 to 45 days... I started taken it Feb 19th and March 3rd she showed

now I am not saying that caused her to show, I am going to wait and see if she shows again around March 31st and if she does then I know it is the Femaprin

I am also on cycle day 14, no signs of any surge yet using OPK's... not much in the way of ewcm and cervix still seems medium low and hard

but I am going to give a try and not give up so soon, cause they say it can take up to 3 months for it to work

I WISH YOU THE BEST!!!!!

Hello

Ive strayed over here from LTTTC. This is my first month taking AC, I have PCOS and irregular cycles although losing weight has helped regulate and reduce them.

Although AC has increased my cycle I think it has helped me ovulate for the first time in 3 years of TTC, but time will tell.

Good luck, i hope it brings you a BFP.

Sarah
