(I'm being a proud Mummy in this, so if you don't want to read about me being proud, then don't read on!)

Alasdair had his check-up today at 4 days short of 8 months.

He weighs 21lbs 1oz and is 72.5cm long. So that's 75th percentile for both :) He is in proportion - hooray!

The HV said that he is exceeding age related expectations in everything but especially with his motor skills (he's crawling, pulling to stand, climbing, using his pincer grip thing). He seems so grown up now and is getting so cheeky! He was crawling towards the wires this morning and I said 'Alasdair, no' and he turned, smiled at me and waved lol. His whole body is changing and looking leaner and more muscular, it's crazy to watch, it seems
like he's changing every day!

The only issues were his sleeping and feeding but we've agreed that I probably just need to forget spoon feeding completely as it's making meal times a total battle for both of us. I've decided to leave sorting out his sleeping until we're both a bit more settled.

Ahhh thats great that he's hitting pretty much all of his milestones quite early!go alisdair!
Oh and theres nothing wrong with being a proud mummy xxx

thanks, I know I just don't want to seem like I'm showing off  I also don't want to make anyone else feel bad, even if it's unintentional!

Awww sounds like your both doing great!

I dont know about the struggles your having with him eating solids... but maybe inger foods would work? A rusk or piece of toast when he is playing etc? Sorry im not meaning to get into a discussion... just thinking!!! Im sure youve tried lots alreayd.

Thanks Ryder, we have mostly been doing BLW up til now anyway but I still have it in my head that I need to get puree/spoon foods in to him. But even if I hadn't considered BLW, I don't think I'd have been left with much choice. He is so stubborn and independent and just won't take food off a spoon any more. I'm not bothered really, I just want to be sure that he's not going to starve. Which is silly, because if anyone else asked me if there baby would starve in this situation, I'd be right in there saying that their baby would be fine and was obviously more suited to finger food anyway!

Sounds like he is doing great!! XxX

When Benn hit 8 months he stopped wanting me to feed him apart from breakfast cereal in the morning so i had to give him loads of finger foods. He sounds like his doing well its great to be a proud parent isnt it?

Sounds like ur doing a great job hun x

aww congrats :D Sounds like he is doing wonderfully!

You are allowed to be a proud mummy!

I'm starting to have a similar issue with Amelia not wanting me to spoon feed her unless its something sweet and she wants it in her gob now now now!! lol

x
