last Wednesday early morning (around 4am and I was a day away from 28 wks) I woke up experiencing some very light but constant cramping and decided to call labor and delivery to speak to an advice nurse and they suggested I come in. I went in and baby and I were monitored for a few hours and they checked my cervix, all was well. I went and saw my midwife that Friday and she didnt seem to worried about my hospital visit.

Anyway, since then I have had two more nights where I am woken up with cramping. One was a few nights ago and the other was last night. They feel just like period cramps and are constant, they dont stop and go. My stomach doesnt tighten so I dont think its Braxton Hicks? Or could it be? I am just wondering whats going on, if this is normal or if I should start to worry again or what....

Any ideas or advice?

Hi I'm 29 weeks and was in hospital yesterday!!! Went preterm with my first at 31 weeks with the same symptoms ended up being given steroid injections to strengthen babies lungs and have had the same this time, my cervix closed which I'm assuming is a good sign but still getting the tightenings which bothers me!!! If ur nit happy go back that's what they are their for!!!! It will put ur mind at ease!!! Good luck x x

It's hard to say for sure because it could be a dicky tummy coming on, it could be baby lying on nerves or it could be preterm labour.. Always go with your instincts hun, as the PP said, if your not happy go back and get seen again, even ask for the fFN (Fetal Fibronectin ) test.. Here is a link with more info in case you were wondering: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fetal_fibronectin

I agree go back. I had that same feeling last night and ended up in L&D with contractions that became 1 min apart and hurt like hell. My OB has told me that if I'm having any kind of pain to go in and be seen because at this point we can go into labor without knowing it. It's always better to go and be checked rather than wait and see. I hope that you get the answers that you need and that Parker stays put.

Thank you everyone! I am having some slight cramping right now and if it continues or if it gets like it was last night I think I will call again.

To be honest, I know if I call they would probably say to come in and I hate to go in when there is nothing wrong (one for the bill I know I will see even though Im insured, Im sure it costs a good penny to be monitored BUT at this point my babys health is WAY more important the then bill but I also dont want to be the kind of person who goes in for no reason)

I been getting bad stomach/bad cramps since 23 weeks.

I talked to an midwife and she said could be braxton hicks and if was contractions the pain would not finally go away but be constant.

I haven't gone to hospital over it and I won't unless the pain doesn't go away and the pain comes and goes.

I had this on friday. I started getting cramps and it felt just like peroid cramps. I went to L&D, I was having contractons 3 min apart. They had me drink a ton of water, the contractions started to go away. They told me to drink about 8 glasses of water a day which is hard for me cause water gives me heart burn really bad. I felt like they were coming back a yesterday and I made sure to drink as much water as I could and rest and it went away again.
