alternative milk portion size

I know it's not recommended to give EBM in portions over 4oz. What about when we introduce alternative milks? Is it ok to give larger portions of those?

PS not looking for info or debate about the necessity of alternative milks or which one is best...thanks :flower:
 
It's not that it's 'not recommended' with EBM it's just that most babies do not physically need over 4oz per feed despite appearing to. As for alternative milks over the age of one then it's fine to give larger amounts than that xx
 
I think they just say 4oz of breastmilk because if you compare the amounts to formula, babies tend to need much more formula to fill them up. Once I gave my baby formula because I had to be out and leave her with a nanny while we were traveling...she drank 8 ounces no problem, even though she was never able to drink more than 4 oz of breastmilk.
