I have no idea about benefits etc so sorry for sounding thick.

Basically i work full time and have done all my life, I finished work at 38 weeks on mat leave, i got a full salary the first month, then the second month got 90% of my wage but this month im now on SMP and received £600.

OH works full time too but gets a different salary every month depending on the hours he has worked.

Im just wondering if im entitled to any help, i get family allowance every Monday which is £20 (or thereabouts).

Its going to be hard if not as i have a car to pay for and mortgage etc.

Does anybody know?

I would say its unlikely you would get anything else.

If the combined income of you both (before you stopped work) was around £35000+ or more then I dont think you are entitled to anything.

Everyone gets the standard £20 per week child benefit

There are online calculators - google it and see:flower:

Weve always worked full time as well so it is totally new to us. I just rung hmrc and they sent a form to fill in. Now we get 43 a week :) I wish I'd done it when I first started mat leave but I left it almost 3 months so missed out x

Forgot to say they go by the amount you earnt last year so at first they'll refuse u any help but if u are going to be earning less ( which we do on may leave ) u have to appeal it x
