Am i really bad??

I'm really confused, i really wanted to BF Tab until she was 6monthes however she wants to feed every hour and i decided to give her baby rice once a day to see if it fills her up. Does anyone else give food so early? Is it really bad?? Everyone i've told has frowned at me and made me feel like a bad mother Sorry if i'm being silly.

I wouldn't worry. Fin is being introduced solids now. I was speaking to my cousin the other day, he's a surgeon but his friend is a paediatrician. This paediatrician said that guidelines which say feed milk exclusively for 6 months are to ensure developing countries can provide balanced nutrition to their LO's. Don't worry, your girl is not that young and it's only rice. xxxx

Your not bad. Jasmine has been having baby rice for over 2 weeks now. I give her about 2 teaspoons in the evening at 5:30 and 2 teaspoons at 9am... She looooves it. She has always had applesauce and last night I introduced sweet potatoes.

She has had no issues and is totally happy all day. I dont even remember the last time I had to give her gripe water, and it was for hiccups!

i've been givin it katie and she's 12 weeks. spoke to hv about it and she said it wont do her any harm, but to try and wait til 16 weeks. she said her kids had it at 12 weeks and the guidelines were different back then. i think she was tryin2say she'd do it, but obv she cant say that, if you get me. oh said after we spokee to her that he wanted to wait til 16 weeks, so stop it til then. after today we've decided to go back to it cos she's literally fed all day today. dont feel bad about it, every baby's different and some need more than others xx

when my two older children was born you weaned at 4 months,Tommy became hungry just b4 5 months hes now on 3 meals a day, every child is different. i knew tommy was hungry as he kept dropping off line in red book, hes much happier now.

Our doctor said also to start solids at 4 months unless I continued to BF and then I should wait until 6 months. However, I haven't spoken with OH about it as I live in the Netherlands so I didn't quite understand the explanation... If it's anything significant, I'll share but I think it was just that BF supplies all the baby needs and therefore doesn't need the extra until wean completely from BF..., I think is what she said

Thank you everyone I wont feel bad about it now. I hate people judging you when they dont know your baby. Only problem i have now is that she's not sleeping through the night anymore...guess you cant have everything.

i'vee found that katie's sleepin thru with the baby rice, i'd give it a bit of time abd she should settle better in the night. dont feel bad, we know our babies best! xx

I know the guildelines say 6 months but I think 4 months is ok. This isnt a critisicm to anyone doing it earlier but I have read that pre 4 months their kidneys dont produce enough of the enzymes needed to break down and deal with soilds properly. Correct me if I am wrong though!

Morgans bin on baby rice since he was 9 weeks old and ive had him on half a jar of baby food twice a day for 2weeks now =) only u understand ur baby hun, if u feel shes not satisfied then do what comes natural and feed her sounds like ur doing a great job x

When i weaned my 1st it was 4 months that you weaned them and my 2nd was such a hungry baby that i weaned him at 4 1/2 months too. I will wait and see how harry is nearer the time.
I think you know your baby best and as long as you are sensible with what you give them its ok.

I started my Tabs off when she was 12-13 weeks old and she got on with it very well. She hated the baby rice though and i only gave that to her twice.......i thien went onto the cow and gate banana and apple cereal for 4 months.
Just go with your baby,she will soon tell you if it isnt right

Ur LO is only 2days younger than my boy and we have HAD to start him on rice and cereal this week. His bottles were not satisfiying him atall. He didnt want to na ither so was getting grumpy and tired.
He has baby rice and bannan at lunchtime and bannana cereal at brekfast, and loves it! Already i have noticed a differance. He wants to nap again like he used to.
She is 4months old anyway, its perfectly fine to feel she needs rice.
I have heard of people givng baby rice at 2months old
