I actually get pretty confused between the differences between pushchairs, prams, and buggys. Myabe a UK lady could enlighten me?

I'm an American that lives in the UK, we went to visit friends and family in the U.S. in November and I used all of the UK words and my friends thought it was a riot.

I can try to help with any words that anyone wants to know. Yeah, it's called a potty (potty training in the US) but we tend to call it a bathroom (even if it doesn't have a bath.haha) instead of toilet.

Well my mamas and papas sola is what I call my pram. A pushchair/buggy is a small fold up that you would use for a say a 18 month to 2 year old. If that makes sense ha xx

I live here and get confused with all of them...I will try to translate but might get them wrong.

Pushchair = umbrella stroller
Pram = not sure if I've seen them in the US but look like old fashion strollers where the baby lays down flat (kind of like a bassinet on wheels)
Buggys = big strollers

Yeah I never see 'prams' here. I've only ever seen strollers with the car seat attachment for younger babies!

Diaper = nappy
Potty for the plastic training thingy, yes.
Bassinet for the small baby beds, usually fitting babies under 6 months only
Crib for the larger ones that often do as a toddler bed as well when one side is taken off

Probably 90% of the strollers I see here are like this and you can take the car seat out:

There's some variation with 3 wheelers/joggers and whatnot but very rarely do I see things like bugaboos here, I think I've only seen one ever while out and about.

I'm in UK and would only use "pram" for a carrycot on wheels iykwim. A seat on wheels I would call a "pushchair" but some UK ladies also say buggy or stroller. Some UK ladies would use "pram" for a pushchair too but I'd think that sounded wrong haha.

I've learnt through bnb that in USA a "crib" is what we UK ladies call a cot. In UK a crib is a smaller version that babies tend to grow out of after 3-6 months. Cribs often have swinging features. I think in USA a cot is more like a fold out bed for adults?

That's a cot in the US. And spiffy, I used to think the same exact thing about vests.

Yes this is another one my U.S. friends didn't get..those are called waistcoats here and they didn't know what I was talking about when they saw LO said 'oh a vest'
