Amniotic Fluid too Low...Sent for Induction Early **UPDATE**

Hi Ladies,

I went in this morning for a Dr's appointment so that they could check my amniotic fluid, apparently it was too low so I went straight from the Dr's to being admitted to the hospital.

I was supposed to be induced on Sunday, but they have started the induction today.

My nerves are a bit shot as this is not what I was expecting & since this is my first I think I wouldn't be able to get around my nerves whatever day this happened to occur.

That being said, I'm both terrified (of the pain) & excited about getting to meet my lo.

I don't know when I'll be able to update next, but if you would wish me luck & send good thoughts my way it'd be very much appreciated.

Good luck! I've been told my 7cm of fluid is low too but they don't say if they need to monitor it so would be interesting to know how low yours was.

You could have your baby by morning!

My fluid was at 5cm. They said that if it was at 6 or 7 that would be ok, but that 5 was too low.

Yup, hoping to meet lo by morning.

I'm happy to announce the arrival of Miss Tessa Nicole Thompson born March 25 at 9:03pm. 5 lbs 15 oz at 19 inches long

The induction process unfortunately put Miss Tessa in fetal distress with her heart rate going to the 70-90 range so I wound up with a c-section & she had passed meconium so it was good that I did, but the way I see it I wound up with a happy, healthy baby & I couldn't ask for more. She's so gorgeous I'm totally in love!

Will post pics when I can (preferably after she's had a bath). Thank you ladies for all your wonderful support!

I was 40 weeks and 5 days at 70% effaced & went from 1cm to 3cm dilated in the space of 3 hours. Guess it was just too much too fast for little Miss Tessa.

But she's here now, happy, healthy & latching on like a champ!
