A girl I know, actually I dont call her friend, bec she isn't. I know her thru her DH bec our DH's are friends.

She has a lovely girl. Almost 6. And since 2 years ago she has been dying to have another baby and she insists on wanting a boy. I recently knew she was pregnant twice and miscarried both times this year and has been off TTC for almost 7 months.

She told me she conceive a boy both times by doing this:

Doing baking soda and vinegar baths to change the pH level of her vagina in order to conceive a BOY!!

I was like  No wonder why she had two miscarriages! I dont think that is healthy.. u want another baby let it be the natural way! why do u wana make destiny do what u want to!

Hmmm.....Doesn't she realise that it is the sperm that determines the sex of the baby? The egg is always chromosome X and the sperm carries either an X or a Y chromosome. So if an X meets and X, the baby will be a girl and if it is an X meets a Y it will be a boy.

No amount of bathing in baking soda, vinegar or even champagne will change that basic scientific fact!!!

Maybe you could tell her this.

u cant pick a baby if it meant to be a boy it will be its not designer ur own baby

The champagne thing made me laugh hard

The sperm that carry the Y chromosome is lighter and swim faster. The sperm that carry the X are slower and heavier. They can sort sperm this way when people are artificially inseminated too...since the Y's will float and the X's usual sink. Weird huh?!?! I have also read that if you want to have a girl it is better to bd right before you O because the X sperm will last longer since they are slower and the Y's swim fast but use all their energy up quicker...so when an egg is released the X's will be there waiting. The Y's and X's are also shaped differently; y are more pointed and narrow and X's are more rounded.

But really....if you are ttc, you shouldn't have your mind set on one sex of the other! Unless you want to spend $$$$$$$$$$$$$ My sister has 2 boys and her new husband has 3 boys...she is preg with....uh..another boy. Same with my friend's sister, she has 4 boys, and is preg with....uh...another boy.

actually you can pick the sex of your baby but it costs alot... You have to go to the dr and they seperate the sperm and only implant the boy chromosomes.

people should just let nature do its thing! although i do wonder what a champagne bath would feel like! would it tingle?!

I just a baby, so for the moment I don't really care if the baby is a boy or a girls, I just want to have one

This really annoys me!

I mean, I reckon i'd feel like shit if I found out my parents were trying to have a boy when I was conceived.

What will be will be...anyone that can have a child is the luckiest, most blessed person in the world, so to then try and expect something else from a miracle in itself is just wrong IMO.

I won't care if I have a baby with 2 heads, 20 toes or green hair, I just want my own bubba :crib: :cloud9:

i wouldnt mind either way, like everyone on here i just want a baby!!

although i did read somewhere that using strong liquids (possibly vinager/ baking soda) changes the acid in the vagina so only the Y chromosome can make its way to the egg! forgive me if im wrong, biology is not a strong subect of mine

i wouldnt be fussy, its taking me long enough and im trying for an X or a Y!!!!

crikey i just want a healthy baby, boy or girl, id never do anything to ruin that, seems alittle silly of her
