Anemic?

how do you know if you are anemic as my blood results from december say 'possible alpha+ thalassemia carrier and/or FE deficiency ' but no one has put me on iron tablets, i am tired all the time, hear my heart beating in my chest when i lay down and get breathless frequently, i am also very pale with black circles under my eyes........... the red blood cell was 4.59? not sure if this is normal, no one has said anything and no more blood tests been done, that was in first tri im now into third trimester and trying to write my dissertation for my degree as well as look after a 5 year old just dont think this is normal?

4.59 is LOW! Mine was 8.2 and they said it was too low. I'm now on an iron supplement. A normal range for hemoglobin is 12-14. I would ask your doctor to recheck your iron and ask about getting a scrip for iron.
