Angel kisses & stork marks

My baby has a blotchy V stork mark and the angel kisses on the eyelids and the redness around the back of the neck. In the first days he was a little blotchy all over so I didn't even realize it. I only noticed the redness around the eyes and thought it was irritation from something they did at the hospital. When I realized what it was and looked it up I found out it is incredibly common and actually everyone has it as a developing fetus but usually it disappears before birth. Now at 5.5 months I think you would only notice if you were looking for it. That eyeshadow comment is wacky because it goes away long before eyeshadow time!

Don't worry about it. As you can see from the ladies on here, it's very common. My daughter has a mark above her right eye that is very bright and a big mark on the back of her neck. My husband constantly talks about it, but it doesn't bother me. I know it'll fade over time. Even if it doesn't, she's still cute as a button to me.

hes adorable and my baby girl has one on her eyelid the doc said it will go away but im not worried about it :) heres a pic, you can see it on her right eye sorry the lighting sucks

Thomas has a stork bite on the back of his neck :) he also has a birthmark on his forehead but it's not a V shape.

Rian has got mongolian spots on his hand, bum and thigh. Strawberry birthmark on his back, stork on his neck and brownish birthmarks on his bum cheeks. I think they are gorgeous and part of him.

You will always get people who got nasty things to say - ignore them, your child is gorgeous :)

He's beautiful :)

Anna has a little red birthmark on the back of her neck and I love it, which is strange as I have one on my arm and I've always, always hated it.

Hers will be covered when her hair grows but I like to stroke her hair upwards and stroke it.

My son has lots of stork marks on the back of his neck/head. He also has angel kisses on his eyelid and the tip of his nose. The nose has faded a little but goes quite red when he is hot or upset (i find it adorable). I was born with a purple birthmark in the middle of my forehead, it looked like a big bruise so my Mam would cut my hair with a fringe to hide it.. She was worried people would think she had been beating me :haha:. By the time I was about4 or 5 it had faded a significantly and isn't visible at all now.

he's super cute and it wouldn;t even strike me tbh - as sb else said people are so vain. Like for example if sb is wearing glasses it doesn;t register in my thoughts - you might vaguely notice it but not enough to think about it if that makes any sense at all???? people are very rude actually!

Ds1 had stork marks - one on his eye lid and at the base of his skull at the back. They have faded so much you can barely see them. I don't even notice them.

My little dude has a huge one on his neck, the V on his forehead and a little bit on his eye....I call the V his rage meter hehe his is starting to go away...this is a recent picture of him <3

My LO has stork bite on the back of her neck & my MIL gave out to me telling me it was a rash from not washing her enough - thankfully the PHN had already told me what it was so I could tell MIL where to go!! Cheeky cow!

I always wondered what it was little one had on the back of her neck, never actually thought to ask about it before, hers was really red and was up the back of her scalp aswell, it's starting to fade abit now and she's 4.5months, don't let it get to you some people just don't know when to shut up xxx

Yep my LO has one on his forehead like yours but a bit smaller, and a more spotty one on the back of his neck, and a tiny one under his nose which looks like he has a bit of a sore nose!...they will fade..I joke that God put the one on his forehead there as a target to kiss.

My little girl has a stork bite on the back of her neck, have never given it another thought as I just figured it's one of those things babies get - didn't know they had such a cute name!

Now that I have a baby myself I am just baby mad and think all babies are so lovely, they could have a little Papa Smurf growing out of their face and I wouldn't even notice (OK maybe I would notice a Smurf but you know what I mean). Anyone who doesn't notice a baby's eyes and smile before anything else needs a checkup from the neck up. Makes me so cross when I hear people say 'What's wrong with their face?'. SO ignorant, makes my blood boil.

Same here! I could have written that! Alex's angel kisses (on his eyes) have already faded away. The mark on his head, which looks like a lightening bolt, has almost faded. You can only see it if you know what you're looking for or when he gets upset/hot/etc. The stork bite on his neck hasn't faded at all, but his hair is filling in and starting to cover it.

Marks like that on the face usually fade.

Both my girls have them on their necks which won't fade.

People should keep their silly comments to their selves

Your baby is gorgeous and perfect!

My little guy has a stork bite on his eyelid and a strawberry birthmark on the back of his neck.

I don't care whether they never fade, I have about six large stork-bite birthmarks on my body and it does not compromise my gorgeousness in any way. :haha:

People always ask me about them though... I have one on my arm that is quite obvious and looks like a bruise and believe it or not, the most frequent comment I get is "Is that a bruise? Ha ha, looks like your OH beats you." People are morons and that supermarket lady needed a slap.

My little man has the exact same mark on his face, although it fades depending on his mood haha... I'm sure his will fade in time but I won't be bothered if it doesn't x

My little man has little red spots on the back of his neck, they're in his hair really so not noticeable, he alse has a red birthmark on the tip of his nose, its faded now and is barely noticable to anyone but me but i love it, its one of my fave things about him!! Its so cute :)
My 7yr old has a birthmark in the shape of a lightening bolt on her arm, its not very dark at all but i love that too. Its part of who they are :) x
