Started with timeable tightening on Wednesday night (28th). By 2am I was concerned enough about the length of time between them, given that this was a second baby, to go into the ward for assessment. They kept us in because we were due for induction that morning anyway (gestational diabetes and spd). As it happened though, there was a training day and it seems to be mega baby season here too, so we were delayed by a few hours there.
They broke my waters and gave me a few hours to get started on my own... that wasnt happening so they got me on the drip. Thats when things got interesting. I thought the pain I was getting was from contractions, but it was from the spd. I had to have another enema (despite being on stool softeners for over a month) but it went well and there were no issues after that. Eventually went against my birth plan and requested a shot of morphine because the pain was so bad. First stage lasted almost 10 hours. The morphine seemed to let things relax enough for transition though, and second stage lasted all of 9 minutes.
I remember being curious about the whole ring of fire thing and tried to zone out from the reality of it all and just concentrate on my breathing. I was told not to push because there was a lady next door also about to pop, but he was coming whether I crossed my legs or not!
Kaiden Fox Luigi W------- was born the old-fashioned way (and I actually felt it all this time) at 38+4 gestation weighing 4.03kg (Taylor was 4.02kg at term!) at 2013hrs BST on 29/5/14. Currently has blue eyes but this might change, as we know. At first I was struck by how different they looked, comparing newborn pics... but now I'm struck by how similar they look![Heart <3 <3](/styles/default/xenforo/smilies/PurpleHeart.gif)
