Being this early, it can be hard to know if this is just a baby that implanted a day or two later than your others, a wonky hpt result, or a possible ectopic because honestly, there are loads of women who can tell you that hpts are not the best way to track hCG levels (even though we all kind of do it...) It could be your wee was a bit more diluted, bubba implanted later, your hormone levels started out lower than they had with the others, or even just the brand of test. Try not to compare this test with those you've done in the past because every pregnancy is so different. My best advice is to call your dr for bloodwork and a few follow-up labs to make sure your levels are rising appropriately and then get an ultrasound scheduled for around 6 weeks to check where baby implanted. I know it's scary having had a previous ectopic but having a somewhat lighter line than you expected doesn't automatically mean this is also ectopic. So try to relax as best you can and just keep checking with your doctor until you can get it confirmed where baby is in there.
