My son is near enough 8 months old and is on 3meals a day. He has 3 bottles a day, I make them all 6oz, morning bottle he drinks it all, then he will have 3oz in his cereal, afternoon bottle he drinks roughly 5oz, and night time bottle its a struggle to get him to take 4oz. So its nowhere near the 21oz hes meant to be having. Hes been waking in the night alot earlier to come in my bed (he never wants a bottle during the night) well my MIL said to my mum that maybe he's unsettled coz hes still on the 1st milk. However he's not waking coz he's hungry!
Since weaning hes gone off his milk, but then he hasnt been a great milk drinker. Anyway, my question is, as his milk intake has gone down, should I put him on the follow on milk or is he ok on the 1st milk?

I think they say 17-21oz (500-600ml) so 6oz+5oz+4oz+ the 3oz he gets in his brekkie (which counts towards his milk total) is 18oz, so I would say he is getting enough milk. Its not necissary to put him on follow-on milk unless you want to. It contains the same fat and calories, just extra iron and vitamin D. xx

Thank you :) he doesnt always have that, some days it can be 13oz. He's still on the same percentile since birth and has never lost any weight so must be doing something right. First time mum worrying lol. X
