At 3 weeks pp, my lochia all but disappeared. It turned a yellowish colour. I only needed to use a liner and I wouldn't get any through the night and into the morning. I would only see some around midday. Now today at 4 weeks pp, it'a come back but it's very different? I need to use a regular pad and it's such a dark brown that it could be called black
My HV today asked me about it and when I told her she didn't seem conceded, except for the fact it was yellow? It didn't have a foul odour or anything but she made a weird face and just said "hmmm, that's very odd"?
I'm more concerned it's gotten heavier and that it looks black.
Should I be worried or is this just normal?

Do you have a temp, cramping etc? To me it sounds like old blood and tissue still passing through. Have you done anything strenuous, nookie? It may have just been dislodged from an area higher up and only now making it's way down.

Watch for temp and smell but otherwise, I wouldn't worry too much. How is it now?

My temp is normal and I've been getting some cramps every few days but it more feels like O pain  Always on the right side.
It has slowed down again and is back to the same amount as before but still very dark.
There is no way you can fall pregnant while you stil have lochia right? I know in my head that you have to be fertile and such plus close to O but since this change, it's had me thinking as OH and I have DTD twice and I figured it would be fine. Now this has happened and I have to admit, I'm stressing just a tad :S

Ok so facts first, yes you can get pregnant immediately after having a baby. My DSiS will testify to that and this pregnancy began 5 days after miscarrying. It's not common but can happen.

It could be the start of your first PP period. I had mine exactly 24 days after birth. It was a bit more clotty than normal but confirmed as the start of my cycle again.

It could be ovulation and your ovaries.

It could be old blood especially as it's dark.

What I would say is do a test and definitely see a doctor, just keep an eye on your temperature. :hugs:

:hugs: Thank you. I don't think it's my first pp period as it didn't turn red or anything. Just went from yellowish to black. It seems to be almost gone today though. I do have endometriosis so I'm thinking that it could be a lot of the excess tissue that has come away but was sitting there
I have my midwife coming over sometime this week, so I'll definietly talk to her about it :)

Sorry if my previous post came across as a lecture, it wasn't meant to be at all. I just wanted to list all the possibles :)

I think it's likely to be tissue that's old, like an old clot but ask your midwife to do a check etc, hopefully she won't be concerned :) xxx

Oh no, it didn't at all :hugs: I apologise if my reply came across that way. OH will be quite devastated when I tell him no more until I can get onto the mini pill at my 6 week appointment :haha:

Well he has no choice now, Aunt Flo is in town :haha: Or at least, that's what I'm pretty sure is happening. It's definitely heavier and is bright red again.
Oh the joys if being female :dohh:

That's good, if you do have any bits still in there, this'll help clear them out :)

It's nice getting your cycle back I found, it made me feel normal, like everything worked still, hehe.
