I was just watching The Time Traveler's Wife, and in it the wife, Claire, keeps having miscarriages because the baby is traveling like his/her dad. Obviously her reasons for miscarriage are complete fiction, but I found that the conversation she and Henry had after another of several miscarriages was so fitting to anyone who is LTTTC or who has suffered from miscarriage(s).

Henry suggests adoption, and Claire replies:

"What's wrong with me wanting one normal thing in my life? I wanna be a mother. I wanna bear a child, your child. Why can't I have that?"

I think it really did a good job of expressing how people in our situation feel in a very short piece of the movie. We just want to be "normal" like "everyone else" and be able to get pregnant and STAY pregnant when we'd like.

Just thought I'd share an example of how infertility/miscarriage was dealt with in a realistic way in a movie.

Oh yeeeaaaahhh.... I read the book. It's really good actually. I forgot that was part of it. :)

the film also showed the levels women will go to to get pregnant .. to the point she deceived her husband to get his sperm !!!!!! lol

I forgot I read this a couple of days ago & now it's on tv. I'm really glad you posted about it. Ive just watched the firsy half but going to call it a day now as Im not up to that scene tonight xx (although i totally agree with the sentiment)

I watched it and it really hit home with me too. I sit there wondering whether OH will have picked up on it, but I very much doubt it! In fact, I think annoyingly, he was out of the room at the time! :dohh:
