Another number for tax credits??

Hi there,

Does anyone know another number I can ring for tax credits? I keep just getting told that they cannot take my call right now and hanging up! I don't want to do my renewal I need to tell them that my childcare costs are doubling as of next week due to a new job but I can't get through at all no matter what time of day. Was just wondering if there's another number that people who aren't renewing could call! My renewal is all sorted but I need to inform them of my childcare increase ASAP coz I can't afford to wait weeks and weeks paying the bulk of £268 a week (2 kids in nursery 4 days a week, makes me wonder why I work sometimes lol!!).

Do they pick up quicker if you phone the 0845 number or is it the same as the 0345? Or is there a time of day that seems quieter? I don't mind being on hold (was 40 mins last time!) but they just aren't even doing that coz its renewal time!

i just pick different options until i get through or stay quite as that auto thing just does my head in was still holding for 40 min xx

I wasn't even getting that far though, I didn't answer the auto thing and it wasn't even putting me on hold it was just saying they were too busy to answer my call and hanging up! Anyway I finally got through later in the day after being on hold 45 mins, total call took me an hour! And they wonder why we don't always tell them change in circumstances immediately!

One time when i called, the person i spoke to told me to call at 7.45am (even though they don't open til 8) and i would get through straight away, and everytime i have called at that time i have! I can't remember which number i called but it was the one on the letter.

ive had that this week too, she makes you go through all the questions then bye!

Next time you call vegazbaby just say "no" or don't answer when they say they just need to ask you a few questions, it cuts out all the questions and either puts you straight in the queue or tells you they are too busy and hangs up. Saves faffing about answering the questions!
