I've read about raspberry tea and how it can help condition the uterus so I've bought some capsules only now I'm not sure when to start taking them and how many ... and even unsure about actually taking them.

I think I read to stop taking them if you start to get strong braxton hicks and that you need to take them for quite a while to build up in your system and it's no good just taking them once you're overdue.

Is anyone taking them yet and how do yo take them. Have they helped anyone?

    Thanks very much

ooo Laurenmomma, sounds like a good labour time to me. Was it your first as well? I could do with a bit of that. It doesn't seem to say dosage on them or even mention them being for use in later pregnancy, just that they are a health supplement.

Thanks espemuppet, 37 weeks does seem a bit late. I read 32 weeks but then seems a bit early so not sure at all.

34/35 does seem like an ok time if it beings labour on quicker than expected, although for me 36 weeks is Christmas Eve so maybe not ideal :haha:

everywhere you look the advice differs. When i was pregnant with my 1st i was advised 32 weeks so i have just went with this for all the others i drink the tea though so not sure if this is different it definately helps the pushing stage and helps your uterus get back to normal quicker after delivery xx

I think if you Google it, it will generally say 32 weeks. My midwife advised 36/37 weeks. I started on one cup a day when I started Maternity leave at 35.5 days. I will be upping my dose to 1 capsual and 1 cup as from today.

I started drinking it at 32 weeks. But at the end of the day, it's HERBAL. With very little proof if it makes any difference whatsoever. You know your body, if you start feeling off or get more BH than normal then take less or stop all together.

They say sex brings on labour, yet millions of women have sex all the way through their pregnancy.

I started drinking 1 cup a day at 31 weeks, now having 2 a day. As it's not supposed to induce labour (plus it's only a tea, I highly doubt it could force your body to go in to labour when not ready!!!??) I thought i'd start asap because the benefits are great, really didn't want to risk missing them haha.

I think I'm going to buy some capsules when I'm closer to the end, as they're way stronger x

im on capsules and tea, i try to have 2 cups of tea a day and i take 2 capsules a day (900mg). remember its not to encourage labour its to make the pushing stage easier, and quicker and for the uterus to contract back quicker after with less pain.
