I had a D&C done in January after losing my first baby. My husband and I were vey upset, along with my family. They suspected the reason was because I am O negative, and they gave me a shot for it.

So I got pregnant again in May. I went in two weeks ago to listen for a heartbeat- at the time I was 9 and a half weeks. My doctor heard the heartbeat 3 different times, which he said it's very rare to hear it even once that early. My brother got excited and told the rest of my family after that.

So I went in today, with my brother, mom, and sister, to hear the heartbeat again, eleven and a half weeks along. And there wasn't a heartbeat. Which is how they found out last time I might have lost it. So he is sending me for a sonogram tomorrow. I'm scared. A sonogram confirmed my fears last time, and it was so hard for everyone. I wasn't gonna tell the rest of my family until I had my first sonogram, but my brother told them in excitement. So now if it happens again it will be so much worse..

I'm just scared and confused. He heard a heart beat two weeks ago, and nothing now. :sad1::sad1:

The doctor couldn't hear my baby's heartbeat when I was 11 1/2 weeks either. Sometimes the baby is in the wrong position, especially when they are so small. Fortunately my OB has an ultrasound machine and we were able to do a quick ultrasound and see the baby's heartbeat.

Not being able to hear the heartbeat on a doppler doesn't necessarily mean something is wrong. :hugs:

Neko is right, please don't panic sweetie. Baby was probably in the perfect position last time - and is being a little awkward and hiding behind your artery now. Best of luck with the sono, please let us know how it goes

Hon the girls are right - Midwives in the UK wont even attempt to hear the HB until the 16 week appointment because it can be so hit and miss finding it before then. The baby is very small at 11-12 weeks and has lots of places to hide.

:hugs:

exactly what i was going to say:thumbup:

let us know how you get on, x

Hi - I sent myself a little bonkers as I got a doppler to have at home and couldn't find the hb - I am leaving it a week and trying again then.

It is terrifying going in for a scan as it brings up the memories but it will be better than not knowing and imagining the worst :hugs: I am sure you will get there and see your beautiful little baby dancing a jig in there :flower:

They are so teeny at this stage it's easy to miss them. My midwife won't even check before 16 weeks

I am sure baby is just hiding. xx
