Anterior placenta and back pain?

Any ladies got an anterior placenta?
I didnt know until my 20 week scan and they didnt tell me then either just saw it on my notes, but I've had really bad lower back pain through the pregnancy and was wondering if having anterior placenta is anything to do with it? My mum said she had it with me and her back was bad...
On the plus side im starting to feel little kicks now, mainly in the nights stopping me sleeping little devil!
Anyone else in the same boat?

I have an anterior placenta and I'm not having much back pain. At this point I don't think the placenta is really big enough to be causing much of a strain wherever it's located, but who knows

thats strange i have an anterior placenta and also have had quite a bit of back pain i dont know if its related though! xxxx

I have an anterior placenta and loads of back pain but it's due to SPD/PGP.

I have an anterior placenta and am in my 24th week but no back pain. I was told I wouldn't feel my baby kick or move much, except maybe in the back, but that turned out to not be true. She kicks like a mule. I've been able to feel her kicks from the outside for over a week now, and sometimes you can even see the kicks. It's a blessing and a curse.

Well at the 12 week scan as early as that is they said my placenta was growing n the anterior position and yes I had terrible back pain and still do sometimes, could be related?

I also have lower back/hip pain and I have an anterior placenta. I dont see why it couldnt be linked. Anterior placentas ARE linked to back labor so I understand how it could be.

Isn't the link to back labor just because babies are slightly more likely to present in a posterior position at birth when the placenta is anterior?
