Are there any anti colic bottles you can shake? Just bought some Dr Browns and doing my head in already!! lol
When I put the gaviscon in the stirrer just doesnt stir it properly and having to use my TT ones to shake it and then decant back into Dr Browns which I dont fancy doing in the night holding the baby.
Any advice appreciated. :)

I have always shaken my Avents; I haven't heard that you shouldn't

DId u try a baby spoon? I found it easier than a a stirrer, u can move the lumps to the sides of the bottle, press them, then stir them again.

Hi No I havnt but that would have to be sterilized each time too wouldnt it ?

Yes, or u can just boil water & dip it there for 5 mins. I just put the baby spoons in the sterilizer, but when I'm out of one I just use the water thing. & u can always using them afterwards for feeding ur baby when weaned.

I use a chop stick to stir them:haha:

It doesn't get sterilised each time but I figured it was going into water hot enough to sterilise the powder, and we never had any problems.
It helps to stir rather than shake as it doesn't put so much air into the milk:thumbup:

Thank you ladies, I have to say this evening she actually sat and smiled in her playnest instead of screaming the place down so not sure if it is the bottles working or a coincidence but need to persevere with the stirring of the bottles!!!

I use the Tommee Tippe anti colic bottles, and you can shake them :) they're not as good as the dr browns ones though I don't think!

Thanks Windmills, was considering TT but will stick with the Dr Browns if they arnt as good.
Jane they look excellent, thanks very much.

I found that if you shake the Dr Brown's once the milk has cooled a little, they don't leak as much. I always give mine a good shake before I put them in the fridge (once they are room temperature)....of course this advice only really helps if you make up your bottles in advance!

i have tt anti colic bottles and shake them with no problems x

so long as the water in the bottle isnt too hot , then you can shake a dr. brown bottle without it spilling out of the airvents and down the side of the bottle.

I know as I used them with Gaviscon infant when I had to shake them.

I find that rather than shaking up and down but side to side my dr brown bottles don't shoot milk everywhere x
