Anti-virus recommendations please!

Hi -I've realised we need to get some decent anti-virus / general internet security software but don't know where to start!

Please can you recommend anything - maybe what you use yourself? Am in UK, assume that's relevant??

Also use your head..dont go onto any site you think looks dodgy/asks for dodgy information.

I use that one to (AVG - the one above, can't quote due to not having posted enough stuff on here yet ), and have done for years. Never had any problems with any viruses on my computer so it's got to be working pretty well!!

Cannot go wrong with AVG, used it for years, and it's free. Not as intrusive as some AV software either.

I used to use AVG, but its popups for updates got too annoying and it felt like it was dragging my machine down.

Now, I use Microsoft Security Essentials, which is much quieter and less intrusive.

Avast for Windows all the way! I remember using it for about years without any problems and I barely had any viruses, some trojans from downloads but those were pretty tricky ones that none of the anti-virus programmes would catch. So I praise AVAST
