Any advice for seeing a GYN next week??

Hi Everyone,

I managed to push my GP to let me be referred, weve been ttc for over a year and since Jan, AF has been very irregular with no periods at all some months. My GP didnt want to refer me as one month they tested my blood and it showed i ovulated which was great, but it was only 1 month and i ended up getting my period after that, so i pushed and ive got an appointment next wed.

I also had a pelvic USS over a month ago showing multiple follicules but the technician didnt write how many, how big, so ive gotta have another scan next wed before i see the specialist, but hopefully they will tell me exactly what it says.

Is there anything i should ask? Is clomid a good drug to start or metformin??
any advice from anyone whos been referred before to a specialist??

you need to be tested for insulin resistance and PCOS before you start metformin. metformin regulates your blood sugar by making your body work better with insulin and glucose so if you dont have a sugar problem then metformin wont help you. the side effects are really bad so it isnt worth trying it to see if it will work unless you know you have a condition it can help with. also you must eat a low carb diet for the metformin to help IMO or you will spend all your time in the bathroom! as far as clomid goes they need to find out if you are ovulating every month or just some of the time because sometimes clomid will keep you from oving if you already are. you need bloodwork done...testing for thyroid disorders, prolactin levels, testosterone, and a 2 hour glucose test at the bare minimum. your partner should also have a blood test and a sperm analysis to see if maybe the problem is on his side before they start giving you drugs and all just in case it isnt you. hope that helps!
