ANY blue dye tests PETITION!!

I voted they should not be sold , I had a convincing + on these several times when I was not pregnant all other tests were negative.

36-yes, 4-no... WOW. That's all I have to say :nope: That is absolutely ridiculous.

yea thats crazy, i need more stories though to prove the point you know? Tell anyone on here if they use the blue to post here!

There was one girl on here about 2 months ago.. she had a REALLY bad blue dye evap. It looked so positive, but she went to the doctor and found out she never was pregnant. Does anybody remember who that was? I think there was a debacle about where she lived or whatever with the UK riots?

Also, if you google you can find loads of stories about blue dye evaps if that helps xx

I love to get her to post on here! that'd be great!

I had a + on Clear Blue that turned out to be a possible chemical pregnancy. Doctor said that those are usually accurate. Some - can be a very, very early m/c or chemical pregnancy and its really hard to say whether or not it was if its so early and most doctors won't even do a blood test unless you have symptoms that are causing you physical problems.

So I think the company could likely counter with this. I don't know if its really worth petitioning. :( Unless everyone who had a "false +" was tested for HCG levels and even then, its difficult to determine in some cases whether it was indeed the beginning of pregnancy or not.

Could they be more sensitive or something? Is that possible? I don't really know!

Maybe write to the company directly?

No, theyre 25 miu, the same as a lot of tests. FRERs can pick up as low as 6.3 miu (they actually say 5 miu if u phone them). A cb digi is 25 miu. ICs are either 10 miu or 25 miu, depending on what u pick.

So,its not that they are more sensitive. If u get a bfp on a blue dye, u should test positive on most other tests. That's going by their advertised sensitivities anyway. They're just rubbish! I think all the votes on here against prove that!

My blue dye story... Got pregnant our first month ttc, but sadly had a mc around 6 weeks which really devastated me and my boyf. We kept on trying, and, not knowing anything about blue dye tests, biught a tonne of them the next month. I was so over the moon when I tested at about 12 dpo, and there was a very clear line. Tested the next day, the same thing, and in total I did 6 tests, everyone had what I thought was a positive. When I then got my period I was convinced I'd had a chemical pregnancy, and became convinced I had something wrong with me. My boyf says he's never seen me like that, I was totally crushed, and so worried, and kept apologizing to my boyf as I felt like it was obvious there was something wring with me. Anyhow is had a blood test done and the results came back a.week later that I'd not been pregnant that month. I don't want to sound OTT but it was sooo upsetting, plus it meant when I actually was pregnant the next month noonei told (my mum, nan and sister) would get even a little bit excited until I was about 12 weeks. my boyf said it wasn't till our 20 wk scan that he felt able to relax even a little.

Also, iv seen so many people get hurt by these tests on here, and I'm so sorry ur going through it too. Legally I don't get how they can sell them... I work in advertising and if we advertised something as 99% accurate which was proven not to be, wed have to withdraw the advert immediately .

As already pointed out ur only 11 dpo, there's every chance ul still get ur bfp this month. just get a pink dye. Fingers xd for u hun x x

I had a similar story.. so sorry to hear about your loss :hugs: congratulations on your pregnancy though!! So happy for you! :flower:

Thanks so much! I just don't understand how they can sell them. It's ridiculous the number of people with similar stories on here! So sorry to see about ur losses too :hugs:

As for the fish tank thing, il try and find the link for the site. X x

I didn't know until about two days ago when I found this forum that there was such a problem with the blue tests. So tonight when I went to buy some more tests I made sure to get the Pink ones. Thanks ladies for the possible heartache save.

If it was a chemical you'd have a real faint line, not the classic thin or blotchy line. You could get an evap line, and have a chemical but the hcg would be too low to pick up on any tests, but there's know way to know unless you went to a doctor... I don't think the company couldn't use that as an excuse. Why didn't your doctor check to see if you had a chemical? He can't just "assume" you did, and pink dyes are MUCH more accurate as they don't give evaps like blue dyes. I know there's NO way I had a chemical because I hadn't even ovulated yet and my hcg was down to 0 from a previous pregnancy. I posted a link of a couple getting a false positive on a CB + -, and they told their family and everyone around them because they were so excited. They rushed to the ER because she was bleeding and found out she never was pregnant.

Even if we can't get them too pull them off the market, it would be awesome if we could spread the word to let more women know about these so hopefully they will have to stop selling them if people stop buying them

everyone should help spread the word of this threead so we can get as many stories as possible!

I just bought a Target brand blue dye test and guess what? I got a BFP almost instantly. I got a bfn on FRER just this morning. I hate blue dye tests! I will be contacting them, demanding my money back, if my AF shows in 4 days!

you could still be pregnant though! I very well could be still too! I'm only 12dpo and it's still fairly early!

but yes i got a positive on one then the next day a negative on the same blue dye test!

Ohh... :( Well, it was a definite faint line but had a thin darker line on one side and the other was just a faint thick line and I had + OPKs 3 days in a row at that time. The doctor was at Planned Parenthood because I don't have a doctor and she said I'd have to go to the hospital if there was an emergency, but otherwise no way to tell and not to waste the hospital's time, basically. But since then my body's been SO off, and it was the weirdest cycle ever that month, so I'm almost 100% sure it was a chemical.

But hmm, I definitely won't be using blue dye again.

I have had a BFP-looking line on the blue tests that are | | that was not a BFP. I have taken the EPT + - blue dyes since I have been pregnant and they are very strong lines. I'm sorry that you have had to go through this :(

Yeah hun those are evaps.. :/ They have to be all one solid color to be considered positive.. they're horrible! It could have been a chemical but that was an evap, especially if you had 3 pos opks and started bleeding right afterwards. You can get a surge before AF, but not a 3 day long surge.. That doctor sounds like an asshole, sorry for the language. If you were bleeding and it was a suspected chemical why on earth would he tell you to "not waste their time". There may have been something you could have done or gotten checked out to make sure it was complete. The people at planned parenthood make me mad. Sorry you had a rough experience with blue dyes :hugs: xx

I had a false + with CB + - tests last month. 3 of them to be exact. I took them because I was feeling really off, and come to find out I ovulated like 2 days after I had taken the tests. Very disappointing. To make matters worse, my best friend had just found out she was pregnant and we were SOOO excited to go through this together. She literally screamed when I told her I got a +. I think she was as disappointed as I was! Well, here's to another TWW..and NO MORE blue dye tests!
