Any ideas?!

So my cycles are long and irregular since coming off BCP 13 months ago.
After 6months, I had mid cycle bloods done which came back normal and told to keep trying.

Recently gone back and GP very proactive. Had ultrasound transabdominal scan yesterday and ovaries and uterus all fine so not polycystic, no problems with formation or anything.

Been told to go back for bloods 7dpo (have EWCM at the mo so hoping it will be next week once my temp goes up) and Hubby has SA booked for jan 17th.

What if my 7dpo bloods come back normal too??? What next?? There has to be a reason for delayed ovulation? Perhaps pituitary gland/hypothamlmus related as they seem to be the parts that trigger the LH surge??

ANyone fancy self diagnosing? Dr Google isn't much good for me at the moment

Naturally I was O'ing late also. Around days 17-20. Although I'm not sure about the literal science behind it...it could very well be pituitary/hypothalamus problem...my FS did say that delayed ovulation had to do with an egg maturity problem. He said the delayed maturity and then therefore delayed ovulation can effect egg quality and then therefore getting pg. Now I'm on clomid to try and help with that problem. I am O'ing a little earlier so maybe it's helping.

I was Oing naturally day17-19 for my cycles. I have been diagnosed with LPD. All it took was the blood test. I am currently on my 2nd cycle of Clomid. It did make me O on CD 16. Also it extended my LP from 12ish days to 16 days.

Wish I ovulated CD17!! I e just ovulated CD28 and it's a miracle compared to cd 40 something! I didn't realise delayed maturity could affect pregnancy

Hey there. I often wonder the same thing. I've had blood tests and everything shows as *normal*....to which I say -- how in the world can it be normal, when I have long and irregular cycles, including a 123 day cycle?!?! So I don't really have any answers for you, but I totally feel your pain. My doctor doesn't seem all too concerned about figuring out "why", but has prescribed Clomid, which I'm hoping helps! But, don't worry about late ovulation, you can totally get pregnant and have a healthy pregnancy ovulating late!!

LPD is luteal phase deficiency. It's the time after you O before AF. If it's too short then the egg doesn't have time to implant. Ideally it should be close to 14 days. Ex. 9 days is too short.

Yeah I think anything less than 10 is considered too short, right? Mine is 12, which my dr said should be just fine.

Ah I see, well I spot from CD10 but LP is 12-14 days so not concerned, its the lengthy irregular follicular phase! I'm lucky that I get obvious EWCM so know when I'm ovulating just don't understand why it's so delayed!!
